8 Month Dogue De Bordeaux Throwing Up?

Marissa

New Member
We have an 8 month old dogue de bordeaux, he started throwing up mucus/blood a few times so we took him into an emergency vet. They did not give us any answers as to what could’ve happened. They prescribed him 3 medications: a GI protectant, an anti nausea and an ulcer treatment. After 3 days, he threw up during the night time. Thankfully there was no blood but still a lot of mucus. He then threw up 2 days after that during night again. His energy level is good, the one other thing I noticed within the past two days is he started licking his rear end . Anyone else experience anything like this?? Any comments would help☺️we love our baby and are so sad to see him ill. Thank you!!

I would say it's time for another vet check or a phone consult with your regular vet. Make some notes about how he's eating and pooping, what meds he's on, etc and take it with you. He hasn't ingested anything toys or anything that you know of, has he?

No, they did a full in depth ultra sound on him and all they found was swollen intestines and lymph nodes.

Yes they did a ton of testing, the recent one was an in depth ultrasound and all they found was swollen intestines and lymph nodes. Nothing else was determined or diagnosed! He is doing better, just very yellow diarrhea but no vomiting so far. We are just feeding chicken and rice for now until he gets better. We are hoping that it is just a sensitive stomach or a food allergy to his previous food

Bc dealing with similar issues with my 2 year old. Ton of testing. No real insight or cause. Different foods. Gets better. Gets worse. Last 6 months he has been throwing up daily. Lots of mucus. Chicken and rice makes it better for a few days but we end up in same spot.
Vet said to switch him to a hydrolyzed Rx dog food.

Have you had any success?
