A Question regarding our almost 7 month old, Old English Mastiff

Hi! We are fairly new to your forum but we do have a concern regarding our pup, Alfred. Alfred is a old English mastiff who is almost 7 months old. The past couple weeks now we have noticed that he is having problems with getting "started" in the mornings. His joints seem to be pretty stiff. Is this normal for such a large breed? He is about 105lbs. But it is concerning to us. Not sure what to do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thank you!!

I would recommend a vet check. Anytime something is noticeable enough to worry and especially if it is prolonged even just for peace of mind it should be checked out. There are some conditions that do present with stiffness after inactivity. I know that any abnormal movement in my dogs is now always going to be checked but then again I am currently dealing with elbow dysplasia in my EM.

He might be in pain so he's moving slow and it could appear to be stiffness which could mean he has pano. Do a search of the forum for pano. Lots of great info. Hope this is the case.

BTW, welcome aboard to you and your baby.

Thank you all for your replies back! A vet check is what we are going to do just for the peace of mind. My husband did do a little research about the Pano and that certainly sounds like what it could be, we HOPE!!!! Thank you all again for your help!!! This forum is so helpful!!!
