Am I overexerting my puppy?

Hello! Mahler is 5 months old boy and he's currently on Purina Pro Plan Large Breed Puppy food, 6-cups a day. And this is how he looks like (not sure about the weight, but we have a vet appt this weekend) pictures --> https://imgur.com/gallery/OH1usjo

So for our daily exercise schedule, I usually take him out for potty breaks a few times a day, so there's a bit of walking here and there.

And every day, we have a playdate where he plays with my neighbors' dogs (they are Greyhoud/pit mix, so they run pretty fast) for 30-60 minutes: wrestling, chasing each other, playing tugs, etc. Mahler seems to pace himself whenever he's tired, he would just sit back and watch for awhile then jumps back in. And this play happens only on soft grass in fenced yard.

And every 2-3 days, we do the evening walks to the park, and we spend about 30-40 minutes, not just walking but most of the time, just Mahler wandering and sniffing around bushes and dirt on soft grass.

Other than that, sometimes when he gets very energetic, I take him to the fenced yard (with soft grass) and we play a bit of soccer or tugs for 15-20 minutes.

So far, I've never seen him limping or in pain, but I'm worried if there will be problems in the future. He does not use staircase at all nor jump any places. He doesn't climb anywhere either.

Am I doing right? Or should I let him run less when he plays with his doggy friends?

Your dog looks great. From what you are saying, you are doing things right. You said yourself the dog paces himself. Keep doing what you are doing.

Hi! Thank you for the reply. I feel a bit relieved!! But are there any signs I should be aware of, to prevent any joint/hip problems? Or as long as he's being active and healthy, can I be less worried for the future problems? Or if it's something genetic, would I know now?

Sorry for so many questions!!

At 5 months of age, the dogs bones/joints are still developing. I would keep the exercise at low impact. You said your dog will rest on it's own which is good.
