BM don't want to stay outside !

Hi everyone !

i'm a new BM owner. She's is 5-month old now and there is no way we can have a walk with her outside ! She sits in front of the door to go outside. As soon as she gets out, she piss or poo and wants to get back inside as soon as she's finished.

We tried to take her to the park. She won't walk. We took the truck to take her to the park and she just wants to get back in the truck :(

We would love to have a walk with her but she just wants to play inside the house. As soon as she gets in, she starts running everywhere and playing with the two cats we own.

Sometimes we take her outside and she starts running like hell, then sits and poo....as soon as she's finished she runs back to the house and scratch the door :(

Maybe it's because it was pretty cold outside nowadays here in Montreal, canada....We've been owning her for a month now and at the beginning she was shivering when we took her outiside. She was only 13 pounds at 16-week old !!! :( We discoverd she was infested with intestinal worms !! Now she's just fine and gains 12 pounds in less than 2 weeks !

Since she was very underweight a couple of weeks ago and she was shivering when she was outside, we think that now she might associates the outdoors with something negative. We hope that springs will make her want to play outside.

So that's the story of our little baby Tammy ! IMG_2813.jpg

PS : excuse my english, im a french Qu*b*cois !

You could try a coat/sweater on her. One of my dogs can be that way when it gets cold here. Chances are next winter she will love the cold.

My boy doesn't like the cold, he will go out to do his business and wants in the house right away. In the summer he will stay outside and move around the yard with the sun (unless it's too hot then he moves with the shade). When he was a puppy it too a lot of patience to train him to go for a walk, even now he doesn't get excited to go for a walk like a normal dog but will grudgingly go with me.

Hi ours is almost 3 years old and she hates the cold (same cold as you we are an 1hr away from you) but like Jakesmum said mine is very lazy as well a 20-25 min walk is all she needs atthis point and not even everyday. Some morning she has waited for the sun to come up before going out.

At 5 months, the puppy is still in "home-body" mode, too.... keep getting out there, socializing and exploring. Reward curiosity and out-going behavior anytime you see it, and eventually your pup will turn into an explorer.

Once that explorer gene turns on - you'll be back here asking how to stop her from pulling you all over! HA! :)
