Cane Corso breeders in NJ

My wife is now leaning towards wanting a CC vs bullmastiff....lol So after doing a lot of reading on both breeds, I'm now looking for reputable breeders here in NJ. Any recommendations? And I also have a question / concern. I currently have an 11 yr old Labrador Retriever. Is there any cause for concern regarding a senior dog and a CC pup? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi! Welcome!

I'm no help with finding breeders (I'm waaaay over on the West coast).

But, as for your senior lab...I'll throw my amateur thoughts at it (take 'em for what they're worth)...

I think that could go either way -
Being a lab, he may LOVE having a puppy to play with. Or, being older, he may find being a parent too much stress, and turn into "grumpy ol' grandpa". :)

How often does your lab get to socialize with other dogs?
How is he aging? Any arthritis issues? aches? pains? Vision/hearing ok?
Any resource guarding issues? Have you ever had guest dogs come over into his space?

Most of the time puppies get away with all sorts of unruly behavior - because they're puppies, of course, and they have that sweet smell. But, if your lab is achey at all, that might cut his patience short. Doesn't mean a puppy won't work out, just that you'll need to be aware of the needs of your lab, and be sure you protect both the lab and the puppy from getting on each other's nerves.

Good luck with the search!! Can't wait to hear how it all goes.
