  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

Do you sell your stuff when you get out of a hobby?

I want to declutter. I have 2 totes full of yarn of all sorts. I was into crocheting 2 years ago. I still am interested, but find myself too lazy I guess. Should I just give it all to goodwill and be done with it?

Why don't you knit doggy coats for rescue centres? I know here in the UK they are desperate for them for the short haired breeds and it helps keep them warm come the colder months.

You're right, those lil ratty dogs need some help in the winter. I can try. Thanks for the idea

Or you could knit me slippers?? Im in desperate need of some new slippers, in fact make it two pair as knitted ones tend to wear out quickly. Go on....get going...knit one, pearl one, knit one...that's a girl! :p

I hate knitting. I swear you get yarn burned on the fingers. I find myself concentrating way too hard trying to knit a decent pattern. I'll stick with crocheting. I honestly don't think a pair of crocheted slippers would be too comfy - I think one would get sweaty feet. Now I have too many ideas!

I had a pair of wool hand knitted slippers and they were great!! Go on give it a try, ya never know you could start a new fashion and become a millionaire and I will only want a 50% share seeing as it was my idea in the first place. Fair is far! :)

It depends lol. All my fishtanks are stored in the storage over the garage, but I gave away the yarn to a friend of my moms!

You need to let go. You don't want to be like me, basement full, attic full, carriage house full, daughter moved back in and brought her stuff too. Now the proud owner of bits, pieces, odds and ends of 30 yrs of crafts, hobbies, out grown toys, and old stuff you can't part with. Need any doll heads? I have a box of 60? for 10-20 inch dolls, from that hobby somewhere in the attic. LOL Seriously, why not take it to a nursing home for those who still knit?

Ditto. I've moved twice in the last 4 years and I cleaned out so much stuff that I kept hanging onto. Now I live by the 6 month rule so I do not have a lot of stuff to clean out when I move again. *crossing fingers* that I move next year to VA or MD. :)

Waste not want not. I dont throw away nothing that has bolts, nuts, screws, washers, motor's, engines, pumps ,wires, or metal. You never know when I need a piece of wire. Or that rod inside that old pump on the shelf. I got a chair in the garage thats been welded back together 5 times. And I did not pay for it to begin with. But let it go to the dump, I have to buy one for 100bucks. Screw that

I guess I have this thing where I find it hard to just give the things away since I feel I'm still interested in the hobby. I'm going to try some small projects like doggie toys and see how that works out and plus it's only two totes full. Who knows I might make some yarn socks lol. And no thank you to the doll heads - that's just creepy. Dolls are downright creepy lol. Seriously, I need to stop buying stuff!

See, Mooshi's comments are exactly why I don't throw anything out... you just MIGHT find a use for stuff... and I have so many ideas I WANT to do... in my "spare" time... I keep hoping to find spare time... but until then, the closets keep filling with yard, fabric, beads (oh yea, I got on that bandwagon, too! LOTS of ideas!!!), and scraps of glass (I do foil and lead cane art glass work... in my "spare" time)...

I love the 6-month rule. We first heard that from Alton Brown on FoodTV... if you don't use an appliance in 6 months... use it or lose it! It does cause us to have waffles at least twice a year, as neither one of us want to lose our waffle makers (we got both a thin one and a belgian version for wedding gifts a few decades ago). I've never tried to apply that to stuff in the closet, though... that would be too painful!!
