Its been a while since I updated on my dogs.
Finnegan, my Great Dane, is about to turn 5 next month. In the last year his anxiety has really started to level out, not sure if it the meds, the training, management, or just getting older, but he is doing really well other than getting hyperkeratosis on his front feet, which has led to to cracks and intermittent lameness. He's a good sport and lets me dremel the excess buildup on his pads, which is keeping the cracking to a minimum. He's still competing in nosework and earned his NW3 title in NACSW. I may have to retire him soon due to his feet, but he's a happy workers and I just love him to pieces.
Adele, my Doberman, is about to turn 4 in September and is still a total diva. Her breeder started showing her in conformation in Canada, and she is sloooooooowly getting points. She also competes in nosework, she is much faster and drivier than Finn, so I think she will go farther than him but is also harder to work than him as she is more easily frustrated. Once she finishes her conformation title I want to start her in agility.
Both dogs are loving Sniff Spot, I have a couple places reasonably close to my house that you can rent with acreage, and since we are the only ones there, the dogs can run around offleash to their hearts content. If you haven't checked out Sniff Spot yet I would highly recommend it.
I can't remember the best way to post pictures here, but I was able to add one of Finn with his "Elvis lip" from our session with Creekwalker Photography.
