Entropia

A bout a month ago, I brought brutus to the vet for a checkup.
The vet told me he had entropia in his left eye, but that we should wait to get it corrected because sometimes it corrects itself as his head grows.. And it would be better that way, he said we should wait a few months.

So mainly I was just wondering if anyone else here had a dog with it that corrected itself, because seriously, it looks very uncomfortable..

Thanks guys :)

My little girl had started to get it bad and I also consulted my vet about it. I've seen some bad cases of it as the dogs get older and it can even lead to scarring of the eye if left untreated. I did not want to wait as she would wake up with a ton of mucus every morning and her eyes would constantly weep. I went ahead and had it done when she got spayed at 5 months and my vet did a beautiful job and it seems he took the right amount of skin.

How old is Brutus?
I have heard that in younger animals (under 5/6 months) the vet can tack the eyelids by putting in temporary sutures that can possibly resolve the problem as the dog grows and therefore eliminate the need for surgery.

If he's only 4 months old I would definately ask your vet about just tacking his eyelids. Or call around to a couple of vets to see what they suggest.

I personally would not wait for too long as it can cause corneal ulcers and affect his vision as well as being painful and irritating. Poor guy...
