Fila Brasileiro Breeders??

There is a group that loves her and a group that hates her. I rarely hear anyone complaining about her dogs, that own one of her dogs.

What are some reputable breeders worth looking into who don't stray away from preserving the "ojeriza" in the breed. Who are consistently producing healthy pups with good bone and mass. Thanks for your helping advance

Aceoutdoors is a member on this forum and could give you far better advice than I can. I know another breeder mountainfila is a member here and she has a couple of pups on the ground. I like her and she does a lot with her dogs. There are two kennels that I would not touch, Lions Den and Intanhandu. I have seen numerous complaints about them. Personally I would not purchase a dog outside of the US. If you have problems most of the kennels require you to return the dog and the burden of shipping is on you.

I am still floored by recommendations for Eshabeta kennels. Take it from someone that was fooled by the website, they are a puppymill. I wished I would have known. My pup was at the vet the next day after getting her. My pup had a abdominal rupture. Vet said it is normally inherited. Dawna said she was shipping me a healthy puppy. She died at the age of 4 due to bloat. These dogs are prone to bloat and I took extraordinary precautions for it. I had her x-rayed and she elbow and hip dysplasia. All these things can happen with the best of breeding....but I firmly believe it was due to poor breeding (my vet said this too) She had it all. Not including the poor temperment. I wanted a dog that disliked strangers. She loved everyone. Lionsden=puppymill also. Not saying by a small chance you might get a decent dog...just please dont support puppymills. I agree with the poster that filas are going in a downward spiral. I see it too. Too much poor breeding. Wonderful family dogs. Good luck finding a good breeder.

After a Lot of research on Fila for almost a year and personal visits to people having the breed in good living condition, I went over the reviews on Lionsden, LoneWolf, Ithahnadu, Eshabeta and de la luna. Out of all these I had a chance to visit LionsDen and De la luna obviously any normal person looking at lionden would know somethings abruptly wrong it was a good 4.5 hr drive from my place but was worth it. Next went over to Diana from De la luna another 2 hr up north drive from my place looked at her 6 dogs and 9 puppies everything was exactly as expected after 3 visits we finally decided to get a male from her, he is 7 weeks now and she won't be letting him go for another 4-5 weeks. The breeders diana and trevor were pretty legit as they had time for almost 9hrs of question answer session and we were definitely satisfied by their response + they make you sign a contract which ironically puts them as a co-owner of the puppy for its entire life. So yes finally a Fila is going to join our family in next 4 weeks... really excited.
