My Presa Canario, has randomly had these (shown in pictures) on his lips and chin.
I had first noticed the one, on the inside of his lip and then all of a sudden the ones on his chin appeared a few weeks later.
I am just curious if anyone else has seen them, and knows what they are.
They do not seem to bother him, I've touched them to see if they do
and had no reaction...

Probably just doggy acne. Happens a lot with mastiffs with their jowls. They will probably go away on their own and you want to make sure you're using stainless steel bowls and washing them everyday.

Ben had those from about 8 months to nearly 3 years on and off, it's basically canine acne. He went through one patch where they seemed to be irritating him and the vet gave him some cream to use, but that level of irritation isn't common, according to the vet. As Smart_Family says, use a stainless steel bowl to feed them and make sure you wash it daily. This kind of thing is common in jowly dogs. If he gets lots quite quickly I would see the vet, same as if they become tender to the touch.

Ditto for Smart-family's response. Our dog had "acne" and it turned out to be a reaction to the plastic polymer bowls we were using... stainless bowls or glass and keep them clean should help. With him, they did usually go away on their own... we gave him fish oil in his food and it helped with his tendency to allergies. It never required antibiotics... try just keeping the area clean with a mild soap and water and make sure the folds of his mouth/wrinkles aren't red inside. Good luck~ Adorable doggie!!!

Yeah, my Doberman had that too, they out grow it, and like Smart Family said, make sure you're using stainless steal dishes.

Yup, looks pup acne. Keep the dishes clean (and go stainless) and keep the face clean. Should clear up after that. :)

Thank you everyone!
I have switched and washed his bowls, and have started to wipe his face with lukewarm water.
I can see that, his acne has gone down quite a bit

They say that tea tree oil based soap will surely removed the acne. I've read a thread about it.
Do you think if you were to use tea tree oil, and water would have the same effect?
I can feel that they aren't as hard as they were previously were, and I have just using warm water...

Sunny & Ruby get zits occasionally; usually when one gets them the other one breaks out shortly after. Sunny & Ruby are especially slobbery, while Bella & Magee have pretty dry mouths & they never break out. I usually just start washing their faces more than once a day with a warm wet cloth, & it usually back off. I think the 2 break out simultaneously because they play bitey-face a lot.
Ruby's co owner insists on clipping her whiskers when she goes in the ring & sometime that will make her break out too. Personally I think it's stupid, & a waste of time.
I've also heard that tee tree oil is good for acne. My daughter uses it.

Stryker hasn't ever had acne, just started March 17th had a small one on his upper lip,
and then by the 25th he had the one on his chin, and then the 2nd one a few days later.
He's suprizingly not a very slobbery dog, just when he drinks/eats.
The only time he ever really gets to play with another dog is when we go see his sister, which hasn't been too often lately due to the weather.
And I haven't heard of her (his sister) having any acne problems either.

(This is a picture taken today, a few minutes ago actually. They have gone down A LOT and are not firm like before)

I ve noticed the same thing on Hera a couple of days ago. A friend of mine happened to be visiting and he is a vet, he said is puppy acne and it will go away no need to do anything special.

My pup has been getting these for the last couple months on and off...seems to get them more if we go to the dog park more. Thinking it may have something to do with all the dogs sharing the water at the dog park. Can it also be caused by something they are alergic to in their food? Every time my boy eats he rubs his face on the couch or a blanket when he is done.

It's always a good idea to bring your own water and water bowl to the dog park. The ones that are left at the dog park, who knows how often they are cleaned and how many dogs have used them. I'm not sure if an allergy would cause acne but it can definitely cause itching, hair loss, dulling of the coat, etc so if you're concerned it may be time to look at what you're feeding and find something that has different protein sources, ingredients, etc.

Every time Sunny eats, or gets a bath, or gets his ears cleaned, or nails done, or ANYTHING, he has to rub his face all over. He even does it @ the vets when they weigh him. It's really funny. I read somewhere years ago that dogs have very strong nerve endings in their snout, & they tingle whenever the dog is excited. Makes sense.

My 7 month Corso had a few pimples, I kept the area clean and only use stainless steal bowls. About two weeks after she got them they got much worse, the became larger, very red and swollen. I took her to the vet and he perscribed her an antibiotic called Simplicef along with Mal-A-Ket Wipes. 7 days later and the improvement is huge. He took a swab of her bumps and said it was a bacterial infection. Not your typical puppy pimple I guess. You can buy the wipes online (cheaper than the vet) and I use them 2-3 times a day. She is done with the antibiotic in 2 days, but he suggested I continue to use the wipes on the mouth and chin. Good luck.

For most pups, it is what it is, just puppy acne. However, for some dogs it turns into a life long battle. My boy has been fighting it for about 2 1/2 years. Nasty little breakout on his chin, bacterial in nature, which all zits are. Antibiotics would knock it out then in a few weeks it would start all over again but be even worse. Vet kept trying different antibiotics. If I could do it all over again I would not opt for all the antibiotics. I feel it tore down his immune system and caused systematic yeast. We are now under the care of a homeopathic vet and Cane is doing the best he has since he was a small pup.

Try everything you can without using antibiotics and topicals and creams with antibiotics or steroids. If you try antibiotics and it comes back, I would seriously think about a raw diet and homeopathic vet.

Get marigold tincture from your local drug store, mix it in a 1 : 3 ratio and dap the pimples everytime after you cleaned his snout with lukewarm water.

I have just been washing his bowls every night before bed and wiping his face whenever needed.
It is definitely so much better then it was before, not as firm or big!
