The Mastiff Forum is groooowing! With growth comes the need for more staff!

A moderator must be a member in good standing, someone who can visit the forum frequently, and moderate without predjudice. Interested members may PM me and let me know a little about themselves and why they would be a great moderator!

You can post question and concerns in this thread or PM me.

I would help out, but I think I'm too new to the forum. I don't know enough of you and your personalities and I think that has a lot to do with it when you're reading over the threads and posts. What one person might take offensively, another person might just be like, "Oh, that's just *insert name*."

Questions:

How often is visiting the board frequently, and what amount of time is devoted to the job each week?

Is there a expectation regarding length of service?

Are moderation duties specifically organized and assigned... is one person responsible for specific forums, or do moderators simply travel as desired through the forums and respond to complaints?

Do you provide examples of posts that have needed attention from moderators?

Do moderators receive payment (or gratuities) if they perform the job in the nude?

I wanted to add that this website maintains a higher degree of civility than others I've encountered.

You've either attracted better participants, and/or your moderating efforts have proven effective.

The mods understand we're all adults and Expect us to work it out as adults. And it works. They really don't have to step in that often here.

Where boards with heavy civility rules, who expect their members to act like children, treat their members like children who can't be trusted with a pair of dull scissors and end up having to step in multiple times a day cause "someone might be offended!!". Which only makes it worse.

I have found if you have cyber sex with the mods they will let you get away with anything. Just joking AK.

I know that our sexting has never gotten me special treatment.

I'm new to the forum but go online a lot. I am a group home manager I have no problems holding folks accountable. I am also very professional. Let me know if you would like some help
