  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

Hi- I'm new here...

After having to put down a beloved friend and companion of 15 years, my husband and I brought home our first English Mastiff pup in July. We had both been interested in the breed for over 10 years and were ecstatic to find a litter locally. This was the first litter of pups (and the last, sadly, mom dog had some complications so she's been fixed now) that these 2 mastiff enthusiasts had, and it turned out to be a bigger undertaking than they really realized when 7 of the 10 pups went fast but the last 3 just couldn't seem to make their way into "forever homes". apparently they really weren't expecting so many pups either (which i think is odd, most of the litters i've seen since have been 15 or more) I wasn't looking for a Mastiff specifically, but just a largish breed/mix breed puppy, and providence brought me to Sadie. She was one of the 3 that remained, at 13 weeks. It was love at first sight and not only did she accept us as "hers" right off, we've been completely smitten with her as well.

She's proven to be amazingly easy to train, eager to please and a complete sweetie. She's good with other animals, loves kids, and I don't think that DH and I will ever have any other kind of dog again. We're Mastiff people now.

There have been a few hiccups... she's a giant chicken and getting her to walk on a leash was a bit of a trick, but once she finally realized that GOOD things happen when one leaves the house, she's pretty happy to go wherever we go. Right now i'm trying to convince her that she doesn't need to hold my hand when we're playing...but there's a plan for that. And I've got big plans to teach her a lot, she's already learned so much!

Basically, i'm just interested in sharing ideas and learning from the experience of others who have lived with giant dogs! Looking forward to meeting everyone :)
