Hii, new here..... Pressa Canario ------ Mix?

I got a puppy from a rescue shelter, her name is Hazel. They had told me she was a pit bull/hound or pit bull/mastiff mix but I have had several people tell me she is a pressa canario and i am inclined to think so as well but I know she is a mix, but i cant figure out with what??? I will eventually have DNA testing done on her but until then i will remain curious unless anyone has some insights. Hazel was in terrible shape when i got her (first photo) she was 7 months old. Now she is 10 months old and weighs 65 pounds. Hazel and my girlfriends boxer do get along well although she is much more aggressive but is it safe to assume she will get bigger than him?

Welcome!
I'm not too up on the Presa or Presa X looks, so I can't help you there. Good looking pup though!

Beautiful puppy! She and the boxer look like quite the pair. Your floor looks like mine: covered in stuffing bits from dog toys. :)

Great looking pups! I do not see Presa Canario in the pup at all. I see maybe a mix of English Mastiff and Pit. Her size will depend on her parent's size.

thank you, yes her and the boxer are the best of friends now, and they do make quick work of their toys, or anything else that is within their reach.

thank you, yeah i see more of a resemblance there, i dont know anything of the parents but i hope she gets a little bigger :)

Beautiful pup you have.

I would not waste your money on a DNA test. Catia had one done for her dog and it was a joke complete waste of money.

I agree with Deb on her guess.

BTW I LOVE her colors gorgeous!!!!!!

thank you, i would have thought that dna testing would be accurate. i will have to look into it some more, because i am curious and the last dog i had, i had no idea what she was either nor did i know the father of the 6 puppies she had because she gave birth a month after i got her. in the end it doesnt matter but it would help me understand her a little more

You are welcome. I always that DNA on dogs would be like it is for humans. Until poor Catia's experience.

Not entirely sure, but ive just got a pup that's presa x Belgian shepherd? Yours doesn't have the dark muzzle that presa crosses do tend to have.

She looks like my girl that's all that's missing.

Any tips for a new presa owner would be gratefully received.
Looks a lot like my old dog Buster who we believe was a staff/mastiff cross. Lovely looking dog.
