Introducing Wilbur the Bullmastiff

Here is a picture of one of Wilbur's male littermates. When my breeder sent me this picture I was shocked. He looks to be at least 20-25 lbs heavier than my pup who just hit, 57 lbs this week at 22 weeks.

I wonder how much food choice actually impacts growth. I've been feeding Orijen 6 Fish, with a squirt of Salmon Oil, and a frozen pumpkin bone.

Wilbur has had pretty consistent weekly growth, with an average of about 3.1 lbs per week.

7 weeks : 11.1 lbs
8 weeks : 13.7 lbs
9 weeks : 16.6 lbs
10 weeks : 19.5 lbs

11 weeks : 22.8 lbs
12 weeks : 24.9 lbs
13 weeks : 28.0 lbs
14 weeks : 29.9 lbs
15 weeks : 33.5 lbs
16 weeks : 36.1 lbs
17 weeks : 38.9 lbs
18 weeks : 42.4 lbs
19 weeks : 45.0 lbs
20 weeks : 50.1 lbs
21 weeks : 52.8 lbs
22 weeks : 57.3 lbs

Holy cow! I love the size comparison. Goodness gracious that is a big pup (I know, I'm in a mastiff forum and am surprised every time by the size of the purebreds). What a beautiful boy. I love the brindle. Sorry, folks, but I just don't understand the powerful draw of fawns over brindles. I know it historically has flip flopped.

Yeah, he's growing fast. He still seems small to me. I too love the brindle color. You'd be surprised at the amount of people who make comments like "That's the coolest dog i've ever seen. He looks like a tiger." For some reason, i've met a few people recently who claim to have never seen the brindle coloring, or at least the pronounced stripes that my boy has.
