Little scabs in fur

Our 2 year old english/bullmastiff dog has some scabs on his neck and head.. also hes whole body has become flaky juat wondering if anyone else has had this problem? We r thinking its his food as we had switched him to a lower costing brand he eats it but its odd.. they dont seem to bug him tho.

What area do you live in? Around here it's has been a crazy cold couple of months, meaning more heat running and much drier air, my girl started getting extra dry because of this, she also wound up getting a few little scratches behind her ear and on her neck that I found when they were scabs

We live in maritines in canada so pretty cold and lots of snow

Without being able to see it it sounds very much like what my girl went through this winter with the very dry air, she got very dry and flaky, and because her skin was so dry she was getting small scratches on her head and neck that would turn into thin little scabs
