Hello all,

I want to create a list of good and reputable rescues that we can post on here for pups that are in need. Maybe we could get some names of some transport services too. If you can please post a link or just the names of any good rescues I will compile a list and post it on here.

Thanks in advance

Great Plains Mastiff Rescue

Welcome

I have talked to them on a few occasions and they are great. When Sadie is no longer on this earth, I will be a volunteer of some sort for this organization.

Gentle Giant in CA should be avoided. There appears to be inhumane treatment of the animals like Rising Phoenix Rescue in WA.

Thank you for all these!!!! :)

Friends of Rescued Mastiffs http://www.mastiffrescue.org/main.htm. I can only speak for the NY Region. This is who we call when Mastiffs come to the Shelter.

Also Big Dogs Big Hearts Rescue Inc. http://www.bigdogsbighearts.com/ They are primarily German Shepards, but they also foster and place other large breed dogs (another one we call on the Shelter.)

Also Mid Atlantic Great Dane Rescue http://nydanerescue.com/

There's a newer rescue in Valparaiso, Indiana called Giant Paw Prints Rescue. They're an all breed rescue, but are partial to the giant breeds. I don't know a lot about them, but may be worth looking at? I see that right now they have mostly small dogs, but I know they have had several mastiffs in the last year.

Mastiffs to mutts in chambers burg, pa. I have a friend that transports for them. I hear they are good

Dogs xL in Baltimore is awesome. They take in mainly dogs over 60 lbs, so. They end up with a few mastiffs. They did have a fila a couple weeks ago.

Here's a list I know from facebook which I learned from this forum anyway. This is a great idea because it would be a great resource for people looking to adopt too.

American Bullmastiff Association Rescue Service:

Rescue - American Bullmastiff Association

Nationwide organization, we network all across the country. Almost every state has at least one area coordinator, who has a list of fosters, & transporters. BTW they partner with many mastiff rescue services, too. Here in Florida we frequently check on mastiffs in local animal control situations, & pull them if need be.
