these 2 boys started it all! I miss them both deeply!
please ignore that horrible picture of me with Happy do.
I really wanted a pic of him at Christmas(1995)he passed away in the
spring at 13, so friends set
it up after hours at their pet store. the photographer was
hiding under a drape about 25ft away and got this quickly!

yep,he was shaking so bad I am surprised
we had good pics! Happy do was no joke and loved only 3 people. I swear I can still hear them bark sometimes.

well , he made some nice pics indeed . I believe you whenn you say Happy do was no joke . Orson was grown up when i met him , and he was also loaded with ojeriza . My wife kept telling me not to pet him whatsoever , even several weeks after we met . But at a certain point i felt it was oke and luckely i was right .

How did your filas's come into your life ? Did you deliberately choose for their kind of temperement ?

I actually went with my dad to look at GSD pups, he bought a pup
and I fell in love with the huge dogs that wanted to kill me on the
other side of the fence, lol. the breeder and I spoke for a bit and
we left, that was 1990. about 3 months later I went to the same
kennel to get a Manx kitten. took my bestie with me and she also
went crazy after the huge mean dogs. again spoke with breeder,
but this time I set up a day to come back. so, we started to come
over everyday and help clean kennels, walk dogs(GSD's and Rotties)
and just expose ourselves to the Filas.

it took about 3 wks of this to be able to pet Joker(show pic) and
his girlfriend Daisy. it took Happy about 3 months for him to accept me.
but, after that you would have thought I had raised him from a pup.
in 1994 I decided I wanted Fila of my own, they had a litter and I
picked my 1st at 4 hrs old. she was amazing, not the prettiest but
a killer temp. and super confident. I then got another from them in
1998. I also got my Dogos from them in 1993 and then in 1995.

I honestly just fell for the dog, their loyalty and devotion,is what got me.
their temp. was an added bonus.

this breeder is like family to me an we talk every day and have for all of these
years. my kids call her granny. she has not had Filas in about 10 yrs., after her
husband died we thought it would be easier for her to not have them. she still has
Dogos.
