So, after some due time researching breeds I do believe our next mastiff maybe a neo! Possibly a cc. Obviously I'm fond of the EMs but would like to expand my horizons as some would say. Advice and input on the breeds would be great I always like hearing about personal experience and most things just keep repeating themselves the more I read! Also I'd love to know of some reputable breeders for them we don't have any around here not that I would get one from anyway! Also this isn't going to be a near future type thing we haven't even brought Jagger home yet. I just like to plan ahead! :)

Illinois and those surrounded areas I'm not opposed to far travels though at least in the US lol. Who doesn't need a good road trip every once in awhile!

I'm in IL as well. I love Neos, and before they were unanimously voted down by the rest of my family, I had some good contacts and breeder recommendations. I'll see if I can dig some of them up again!

What's wrong with Canada? Sheesh. LOL. I will ask my friend as she had found a few breeders near you when she was looking for a male. Took her a long time to find the male she wanted and she went into the states for her male. I will let you know what she says or just get her to come on here and introduce herself. She is registered on here as Lexington Kennels but wasn't sure about posting.

If we promise not to attack her will she come on? :p

When I was searching a few months ago my friend referred me to her breeder. I doubt you would want to drive there but...

IMO they have the best US dogs.

There is also a breeder in Hungary who I adore her dogs, but I cannot seem to find the link right now to that. As far as the breed goes? LOVE THEM!! Top 5 dogs in the world..

Lol north nothing against canada that's just pretty far away and I don't know much about shipping a puppy!
Jadotha let me know if you find those! That'd be great! Thanks for the links Mighty!

Lol, I am a fan of Cinciripini Mastinos. I really like Brenda and some of her off spring, Talia and Ombrone as well. For modern Neo's, they have some very nice dogs. That is my opinion.
I would like to get down there and meet in person, that is my plan at least.

OK so I keep looking into the different mastiff breeds. I keep coming to either a cane corso or a neo. They are both absolutely gorgeous. I'm just trying to pick which type would be better for our family. Obviously I have a little boy he just turned 2. As far as I have read they both are great family dogs. So, personal expierence would be great. I don't know anyone with neos or cc's to be able to actually visit these two like I could with EM's.

You sound like me lol. I've decided on getting a CC first, and if I feel when the dog is 2 years I need/want more of a challenge I'll go for a neo. I suspect i'll have my hands full though.

Camo is a Neo and I think he's the coolest dog ever! He's smart (although stubborn at times) friendly, playful, full of himself, gentle, laid back (most of the time, but he does get the zoomies!) plays well with others. Just all around a good boy. I also have 5 tiny dogs & 3 cats & he's good with all of them. He will chase & slobber on the cats though. Lol!

I'd have another Neo in a hot minute. Good luck with your decision!

I see the Neo breed and it makes me cringe.....Those dogs are so over done with skin and wrinkles it looks like blobed mess. I feel so bad for the dogs.

While one does have a bit more wrinkle however I like that fact I can see the eye without the horrible raw haw the seem plague the breed.

Good study dog without the excessive skin and wrinkles.

I found a small breeder of Neo's that I actually like the way they look. I agree a lot of them are so excessively wrinkled it is hard to find one that isn't anymore! These look to be about as wrinkley as I'd want except hers are priced $4000.. That just seems exceptionally high for a dog considering her's are nothing special not champions nothing. Just sound healthy dogs. They've had testing and everything done but still seems a little excessive of an amount for such a small breeder around here. I know they are expensive but I was thinking more 2000-3000 range!
