Orthopaedic Bed or Dog Cot

I looking to purchase either a Orthopaedic Dog Bed or a Dog Cot. Which would be the better choice? If you have tried both, which did you prefer? Which did your dog prefer?

I saw some cheap priced cots at walmart, but I'm wondering how the quality of those compares to some of the "name brand" cots?

And if anyone knows any good deals going around, please let me know! Otherwise I shall continue shopping around .

Buy a kuranda bed.

I have several elevated beds. Have/had some ortho beds in the past, my go to are elevated beds. Fresco or frisco brand on chewy.com are sturdier than the coolaroo.

Canine ballistics makes fantastic beds, but they are expensive! My dogs have to have a certain bed or they look at me like there is a crisis happening. Funny thing is, it's just a regular flat dog bed from Walmart (cheap).

My dog prefers an elevated bed with a cheap bed on top of it for padding. He chooses this over the big barker every time. You can see him in the elevated bed in my profile picture.

We have a Kuranda bed which we use outside, but inside we use these beds: http://www.daynakingreatdanes.com/Cot_Beds.html. Mostly because the Kuranda is dirty from being used outside.

Thanks guys! I was looking at the Kuranda bed before as well. I'm just trying to figure out why walamrt has Cots for $20-50 and Kuranda is $160. But I guess it comes down to Branding and Quality (of products, and US vs China made)?... I believe the Kuranda Aircraft Metal one takes up to a 250LB dog! I may just go with this one and buy the biggest size one time, pups will grown into it for sure!

Courtney, that is probably the best Quality/ Build I have seen for a dog bed! (Seriously!) But $250 for a dog bed? Ouch! ...well not to bad, until I have to convert it to Canadian dollars....$336... I should just go buy a Human Tempur-pedic ortho-matress haha.

Scorning, someone looks Comfortable! <3. Good point about the pad on top. I have these extremely Thick Towel/Blanket/Throw type material I can folder over the Cot for added comfort.
I think it's fairly easy to make a cheap DIY Pet Cot at home with the right materials. (Which would be comparable to cheaper cots, not a Kuranda.)

I was thinking the Ortho-Mattress might be more comfortable, but I'm wondering if it would be necessary? I mean maybe for an older dog thats has some years on them, but for a puppy and the first few years an Ortho-COT should keep them happy and comfortable yeah?

I can't stand ortho beds. They always just smell after awhile and if one has an accident on the bed...how am I going to wash an 8 inch thick memory foam bed ??? If the dogs want cushion, the couches are available lol. Yes I have bought some cheapy beds/mats/queen sized blankets from the goodwill to put on top of the elevated beds for more comfort.
