Dog fighting is illegal. Anyone who would use a pet, friend and loved one for fighting out to be used the same way themselves! As for the dogs in your pictures, strange part mastiff? I have not seen dogs from your part of the world. Dogs should never be chained. They need a fenced yard. Sorry if I sound blunt or out of place, but it's a touchy subject for a lot of us in the US. We see dogs as part of our family, like our own children. I put up with a lot more out of our dogs than I ever did my kids while they were growing up! My dogs live in air conditioning, sleep in our bed, get fresh water many times a day, eat the best dog food I can buy, dog toys, treats, have constant attention at our side and better health care than me. Their life is to short to not fully enjoy them. After all, we chose them and the responsibility of dog ownership. If we can not or will not take the good and the bad of that choice we have no business with a dog.

The American in me wants to give you a  for this but I also realize that things are very different outside of the US. Do I have to like it? No but it is reality, as much as that reality sucks.

TurnRide understandable but not every treats animals like we do. Even in the states people fight dogs just like in other countries. I'm not saying its right and I don't agree with it but I try not take it personal.

Smart_Family reality does suck sometimes, but it has its moments as well. :D

Just because something is from another culture doesn't mean I have to respect or be ok with it...fighting dogs sucks

I really like the photo on the right...and thank you for showing us pics of mastiffs from Persia and modern day Iraq and Iran in a couple of threads, now. I have really enjoyed them.

You don't have to agree or like, but you have to respect traditions of other countries, even traditions on your same country!

Dog fighting is illegal.

They are illegal In my country too, but roster and bull fighting are legal, i don't like that. I actually signed a letter to abolish bullfighting, but for example member of my family do like it and respect that tradition, so we don't make a big deal about it.

...I put up with a lot more out of our dogs than I ever did my kids while they were growing up!...
In my country, for example that is... I wont even continue writing.
