I could have sworn that I posted an update about the newest member of our pack who was born a bit over a month ago - Kaiden! Am I hallucinating having posted about this? I couldn't find my post. Oh well. So I am sharing some pics of the baby and of the baby and the dogs. The dogs love the baby. The baby seems to like the dogs as well. I, of course don't leave them unsupervised together because that just isn't wise despite how wonderful and sweet my pups are.
But the dogs will cuddle up to us when we are holding the baby. And they try to sneak in as many kisses as they can. They are also quite protective of the baby, always checking on him, on high alert for anyone coming near the house. And when he cries the come and try to "tell" me... as if I can't clearly hear my screaming child. Still it is all very sweet and adorable.
First photo with the baby, this was right after he was born:
And here a lot more photos that I have taken since....

Diesel takes his job as guardian to the new baby very seriously and because of this we aren't the only ones who are sleep deprived. He is feeling the suffering of late night feedings as much as we are.

Little Kaiden definitely is already showing signs of stubborness and attitude at just one month old:
And I suspect he knows that he has everyone wrapped around his fingers with his cuteness.
Kahlua absolutely adores him and snuggles up as close to him and I every chance she can get. If I let her she would cuddle and kiss him all day long every day.
His cute little face in a giant yawn
Snuggling my little guy.

Poor Diesel is feeling all of those late nights and middle of the night feedings. Being a nanny dog and guardian dog is tough work.
