Puppy biting!

I have a four month old cane corso and every time I go to pet her she bites not in a aggressive way. Every time she does I yell ouch! & stop playing or petting her she just won't listen when I say no. Is there any tips on how to stop her from biting?

Time, patience, and consistency. Both of my corsos were hand nippers/suckers from the start. Sounds like you are doing exactly what you should. I went with a firm no over ouch. She has not learned "no" fully yet, but don't give up on it, I have found no to be a powerful tool in training my corsos. If she is outright defiant, seems like she knows you're telling her no but keeps at it anyway I'd take it to a time out at that point. As teething stops and her big girl teeth settle in, she gets older and has a better understanding of what is ok and what is not, and you are consistent and clear with what your asking her it should be nothing but a memory before you know it

Cobi has never been mouthy, but those big paws slap at every opportunity. When I see it coming, I walk into him, shoulder him, whatever I can do to stop it. It's cute now, but it won't be when there's a lot of power behind it. He also thinks it's cute to jump on people or the other dogs. I get that at work with the puppies, we just kind of bump them off & ignore them. They get it eventually. Cobi's taking longer, because Bella & Sunny tolerate it.

Our 6 month old Corso is very mouthy too. If you reach to pet her, she takes your hand in her mouth--never closes her mouth, so not really a bite, she just wants to hold on to our hand. We just say a firm NO and withdraw attention. It does seem to be improving, as she only does it now when she is very excited. I believe it began when she started losing her puppy teeth. I'll be glad when it's over with though!

Mine did it once, I said a firm NO (which scared the crap out of him) and it never happened again.
