Question on wrinkles...

So my Duchess is a Neo, but for some reason the wrinkles from her jowel to the top of her head have not really developed. I was wondering if this had happened to anyone before? Her dad was really wrinkley, her mom was less, but her and her siblings all look the same and I don't know if it's normal. My Duke looks like a "normal" Neo.

I asked the guy I her from and he said this litter was bred with a concentration on being more of a "working" Neo and less of the show type. Anyone ever heard of this?

At the end of the day I love both of my Dogs and for Duchess being Mt first female dog, she's been great. Just thought I'd ask.

Do you have pictures of the parents?
I mean no offense with this, but I'm having some difficulty thinking she is full Neo. As for what her breeder said, the offspring will look like a mixture between their parents. Regardless of what they're trying to breed for.
She is a pretty girl though. :)

I agree, AKBull, I honestly do not see Neo in the pics you posted. Your avatar looks more Neo than the pics you posted.

I have to agree that she does not look like full neo..Also, I did not think that Neo's come in a brindle colour??I always thought it was either Black, Blue, Tawney, Mohogany and if there are brindle then the brindling usually comes within the colour of it's true colour...I may be wrong though

Honestly, I think the person you got her from pulled a fast one on you....I just don't see Neo at all. There's obviously some sort of giant breed there, but I can't tell that it is Neo. I've also never seen a brindle Neo (doesn't mean that there couldn't be any - I don't know much about what colors they can be). I second what Ak said about posting pics of the parents. Do you have these? Where did you get her from?

Thanks for the info ladies and gentz. Yah when I first got Duchess it was my first time ever purchasing a large breed. I never got to see her mom due to her dying right after giving birth. I've seen pictures of what I'm told is her mom, and I saw the dad. Her dad is a dark brindle Neo, but I don't think the mom was. Duchess is 23" at her shoulders and 120 lbs, also very active compared to Duke. I just recently ordered a Wisdom Panel DNA test just to cure my curiosity. Either way I'm glad I took Duchess, she's been awesome.

We did foster a Brindle Male Neo. He was gorgeous. I'll see if I have a picture. Smoky.jpg He was papered.

The picture doesn't really show it but it was the blue under the tan and black brindling. The picture doesn't show his color very well. We actually looked for a Brindle Neo when we found Baci. Fairly hard to come by.

The recognized colors for neos are black, blue, mahogany and fawn. They can and fairly often do have brindling. But its what I call reverse brindle, as the main color is dark and the brindling is light. My male is black brindle and my female is blue brindle.

OP, as stated by others, unfortunately youweren't given 100% true info. Based on the head alone, your lovely girl is not a pure neo.

she is pretty though!

ResizedImage951393549739982.jpg its harder to see the brindling on her because its so light a contrast on the blue but the black brindle is easy to see on him

That dog looks more like a german shepard than a mastiff. but to answer the question. Their are 2 types of neos, the original being the working type and the genetically altered would be the show. The show has the excessive (in my opinion) wrinkles. I would do a DNA test on your dogs. They are fairly cheap, and will tell you what dog breed(s) are in your dogs dna.
