Reoccurring ear infection?

Fish doesn't seem to be a problem but then again he has once again decided that he won't eat. Since Thursday he might have eaten 3 cups total instead of the 9 it should be at this point. Stupid Irish Setter trait. You would think I would be used to this as it happens a few times a year. He has already lost enough weight that his hip bones are noticeable. Time to start with the satin balls again.

That is so weird. Sorry to hear your puppy is making you crazy. Bella hasn't been finishing her food, but only leaves about 30 pieces of kibble in the bottom. We feed them separately because Sage scarfs and Bella savors, which drives Sage crazy.

Apparently Irish Setters are known for this behavior of deciding not to eat. I had him checked the first time he did it and when there was nothing physically wrong I did a search online. It seems to be a common concern with many of them actually starving themselves. The worst case he's had he lost more than 10 lbs in less than a week, he's 70 lbs normally. Learning about satin balls was the best thing for my metal well being because he will eat those even when he refuses everything else nutritious.
