Satin Balls

we had to do satin balls for Xena but if I ran out of 1 or 2 ingredients i just used something else to replace it.

I had to look up what they were... the grain is just a binder, isn't it? To help the balls stick?

Could you use
potato (starch, but not grain)
sweet potato
banana
powdered egg shells
all natural gelatin (chondroitin source?) ?

I agree, I think the grains are a binder. I do not see why you couldn't use sweet potato and the others you listed.

On my hog hunting board alot guys use the balls for new moms and post surgery nutritionn. Ill look to see what recipe thay use

I would greatly appreciate that I am currently feeding Jacks a grain free diet and would like to keep it that way but these satin balls seem very interesting as he is starting to get tired of his usual food!

Satin balls are fed to add weight to an underweight or emaciated pup. If your pup is tiring of the food, have you tried a different flavor in the same brand of food? Has the pup stopped eating as he usually does?

Most pups will self regulate during the summer due to the heat and not eat as much food as they usually eat.

Well I asked my fellow hunters. All I got was recipes that included shaving cream and pivot head razor......:(
