Silver & Miyuki!

Silver and Miyuki are my two girls. Their dad was an absolutely beautiful pure bred cane corso, mom was half neapolitan, half bordeaux, they were the result of an accidental pregnancy. I got them at 5 weeks, I now see that was a big mistake, but they are almost 10 weeks old and so awesome now. Such different personalities. Silver was the largest puppy in the litter and Miyuki was around the mid size, their size difference is really becoming noticeable now! At 9 weeks Silver weighed 23.5 lbs and Miyuki weighed 19.5 lbs. Meant to post this a long time ago but since I had to drive 1100 miles to pick them up, I spent a few weeks visiting family and we just got settled in back at my home in Tucson this week.

Oh wow! They sound like such a neat cross of dogs! Please update us with pictures & details as they grow. How did you find them so far away from an accidental & so young?

They are little beauties. Love the pictures. :)

Most of the pictures I have are of them napping since when they are awake they never stand still enough!

@Mario, they were born not too far from where my mom lives. Was waiting till 8 weeks to pick them up but then a breeder that got one of the pups told the owner of the parents that it was better for them to go to their new homes ASAP so they could bond before they got too big so that's how I wound up with them at 5 weeks.

Glad it worked out well. I'd be sure to make note of that particular breeder so as not to buy from them in the future! ;) 5 weeks is too young IMHO... Though that's they same age our friends got their DDB at? Weird. Seems to me in the grand scheme of how big these dogs will get- 8 wks old is still small enough to bond well with the family. Not that it's your fault. Sounds like the people just went with what this other breeder recommended? ;)

Anyway they really are pretty puppies!

Re: Silver & Miyuki!

Congrats on the new additions! 8 to 10 weeks is preferred, especially in large breeds that are slower to mature as there are some lessons that mom and litter mates teach each other in the 6 to 8 week range that are important for them. Also I think in most states in the US it is illegal for a puppy to go to their new home before 8 weeks but I am from Canada so don't know that for certain.
