This forum needs more Great Danes, so I bought another one!

Titan got a present for his first birthday (and I got myself an early present for mine) - another Great Dane!

Zephyr is 7 months old, 34.5" at the shoulder and a very skinny non-muscular 110 lbs. He and Titan have bonded very quickly and he gets along with all of the other dogs quite well. Overall, things have gone better than I could possibly have hoped for!

Here are the monsters:

You are so kind to think of the needs of the forum members! They're gorgeous! May I ask where you got Zephyr?

I know my DH wants a Leonberger in a few years, but the more time that passes the more I'm thinking I want a Dane. My husband is going to be in Ann Arbor in August teaching a class at the UA training convention. If you find that two is too much I can have him swing by and pick one up. Always glad to help out!

I've been casually looking for a buddy for Titan for months. Searched all types of rescues and couldn't find a single one that would adopt to me because I don't have a fenced yard and Titan is intact. So the only way for me to get an appropriately aged Dane (6-18 months) was private rehomes.

Zeph lived on a farm in Ohio where an English Bulldog was beating up on him. He's covered in scratches and punctures. He was being free fed and I think he was being chased away from the food bowl, hence his weight issues. He wasn't getting much interaction or training - the look on his face when he gets a treat or toy is an expression of pure joy and wonder.

He is papered, or so I've been told, but his previous owner couldn't find his papers before I got there as they were remodeling the house and things were a bit tumultuous. She said she'd contact the AKC and send me copies of his papers as soon as got them. Not sure if that'll happen or not. He's clearly not well bred, but fortunately papers didn't matter to me, as I'm not breeding him :)

It sounds like he landed in just the right place. I think he's going to blossom in your care. Congrats to you all. Happy late birthday to Titan and early birthday wishes to you.

Makes me think we need a Dane here, too. And my birthday is coming up soon... :) :) :)
