Time for Westminster!!!

I can't believe not one mastiff was picked. I'm partial to the dogue but that Neo was one of the best looking dogs there.

I have to agree with sethmp. I love them and have thought about getting one in the future.

I only got to watch the finalists in the working group last night. Did anyone catch the part with all the EM's? I thought the one that made it to the finals was less than stellar IMHO. Not that I am very knowledgeable on judging the qualifications but I felt that he was a bit short and was more fat than a massive/muscular.

Did you guys feel that he was the best of the EM group?

That is what I would have wanted to see, the breeds.
Is too bad that all was removed from the garden :(
Yeah thats true... It was my first time to Westminster, so now i know better. Watching the breeds would be much more fun...

i have to agree about the EM, i was surprised, thought he looked alot more like a BM in the face. did anyone else think that?

I am still working my way through watching some of the breeds that interest me. In some cases I am shocked at the dogs I see put up and in others I agree. I guess it depends on the judge, and I don't think I agree more with one of those judges than the other.

I dont even know why I watch this dog show. Clearly I am not a dog judge because I am NEVER right and most of the times the dogs think I should place dont even make the cut, grrrrr lol

As others had said, that Neo was awesome and it seems like the judge didnt give to shits about even looking at him. The EM in my opinion should have never been in the group judging as there were far better examples in the breed judging but they got past over for Sluggo there which is a whole other rant but for that Neo to not even get pulled from the line pisses me off to no end /rant

Ruth, We do not fluff or poof. You need to stop insisting we do. In fact show up to a show and watch us. Sasha has a tremendous coat, some call it breathtaking, stunning and some don't like it for various (sometimes obvious) reasons. As far as "technically against the standard" Really? Come on, you know better. From the Standard: "Neck and shoulders heavily coated, especially in dogs, giving mane-like appearance. Tail and britches densely coated and heavily feathered. The Tibetan Mastiff is shown naturally. Trimming is not acceptable except to provide a clean cut appearance of feet and hocks". You have never seen Sasha in person and know nothing about how he is groomed, so you should probably stop making assumptions.

You're going to pick up a year old thread from the first time I ever saw the dog and correct me?? Seriously?? How about some manners of your own!

I said "excessive grooming" is against the standard, so get off your high horse and get over it. In the YEAR since I posted the previous comments I've been informed by Sasha's breeder that that is indeed his coat and there's no fluffing required, but I KNOW that quite a few other TMs are fluffed for the ring, so my comments still stand.

Get over yourself!
