Titan!

Since the Dane forum doesn't get a lot of action, I thought I'd share some photos of Titan. He just turned 6 months old this last week, he's 30" at the shoulder and 103 lbs as of this morning. Still eating 11 cups of food a day, though I suspect I'll be cutting back on that in the next month or so (thank goodness, my wallet could use a break).

He's been a bit of a monster these last few days, but overall his gentle and well-mannered nature really shines through. I see glimpses of a great dog in there sometimes :) Here he is, photos ranging from 5.5-6 months old:

What food are you feeding? I'm doing fromm and feeding 8 cups a day but bear still looks too ribby. Going to try and increase tomorrow but I know he's not going to finish it all.

Beautiful boy! I see a very good dog in there. :) How big were his parents?

His mother is 35" at the shoulder and 155 lbs. His father is 37" at the shoulder and 170 lbs. His maternal grandfather is 39" at the shoulder and 185 lbs.

Titan was the largest in the litter by about 2 lbs when I picked him up at 9 weeks. Doesn't necessarily guarantee that he's going to be super large, as his littermates could catch up and surpass him. But I have the idea that he's going to be 36-37" and 170 lbs or so :)

I'm feeding Earthborn Meadow Feast. I tried Fromm but it was too rich for Titan. We had cannon butt issues.

Do you put any sort of topper on Bear's food like canned dog food or egg or anything? Would that maybe encourage him to finish?

You can share here all you want!!! Next house we plan on adding a great dane, my CC is wonderful but I would like a little more variety. And my fianc* thinks bigger is better...the more to snuggle with. So share all the pictures and stories you want. I will read it, I like your stance anyway on most topics you have replied on anyway.

Thanks for all of the compliments on Titan everyone! I finally got some photos the other day that demonstrate how much he has grown.

He's officially 6.5 months old, 30.5" at the shoulder and a bit over 110 lbs. Still eating ten cups of food a day with no signs of slowing down. His hip bones are still somewhat prominent. I could barely lift him, and this is definitely the last time I will even attempt it. He was a trooper, though :)

That's odd. I saw pictures on the original post, but now I don't see any at all. Are you all seeing pictures?

Very handsome! Finn is slowing growing out of the monster phase, I am hoping his neuter later this month helps mellow him out a bit.

I think it's maybe on my end. I see no pictures except the one under your name. Hey, Hiraeth - are you a guy or a girl? Your user name is pretty gender non-specific.
