Waiting for our first pup!

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum and have been creeping around the last few weeks! I thought I would introduce myself and ask a few questions. My boyfriend and I are in the process of adopting a new EM pup! We have placed a deposit on a puppy that is to be due June 17 and are excited about the addition to our family!

A little about our journey....
I did months of searching about the breed and about breeders in our area. We decided on a breeder who we came to like and felt comfortable with. We originally placed a deposit on our pick of a male brindle from the litter. We patiently waited, and she finally contacted us when the puppies were born. Unfortunately, there was only one male brindle in the litter, and he didn't make it. The breeder said he was really small and didn't survive. We were absolutely devastated. The breeder was very sweet and gave us several options including a refund, pick of the next available litter and even the option of a puppy from a champion litter that was planned for later in the summer at a semi-discounted price for our troubles. We chose to take the next available puppy (even though it would not be brindle in color). The next available litter had not been advertised because she only let them try twice and there were only 3 puppies per the ultrasound. Well....you guessed it, that litter didn't pan out either. It was a false pregnancy or the babies were aborted...she wasn't given a good answer by the vet. She had one other girl pregnant at the time, and that's where we're at now. I don't think we can take any more bad news! I contacted the breeder last week to see how the momma was doing, but I still haven't heard back.

Should I be as concerned as I am? I've talked to the breeder several times before now, and she really seems like a genuine person that loves and cares for her dogs as if they were her kids. My biggest concern is that if this doesn't pan out then we have to start our search completely over and begin the process again.

Welcome aboard~ I'm sorry to hear your journey has been long and painful. :( I would post your question in the Breeder Section of the forum so breeders can respond to your question. Personally, have 2 failed pregnancies would put a red flag for me.

Thank you both for your response. It concerns me a little as well. I reposted in the breeder section, so hopefully someone can give me insight on if this is just bad luck.
