What will your next dog be?

chihuahua crack me up they are awesome little dogs if socialized properly like most dogs and if you treat them like mini dogs not designer bling, you know let them walk on the ground etc :)

I'd have a gaggle of around 20 of them if I had the room would be hilarious to have 20 chihuahua running around after you. :)

Hahaha I've been in a house with 20 chihuahuas, It wasn't very "fun" to be there lol. However, had they been well trained then I wouldn't have minded them as much. There a lot of chihuahuas here in San Diego, and I have to admit, I not of fan of the people who carry them in their purse everywhere they go.

Smooth hair St.Bernard or a Bullmastiff. Probably the BullMastiff, as I want something I can train.

The breeder I got Duchess from also bred Chihuahuas. It was interesting watching the chis run around with the pups that were already triple their size.

I will never own a small dog, anything less than 80 lb just doesn't fit the bill for me. My next dog probably a male Boerboel. But I am obsessed with the flock guardians of Central Asia like the CAO/CAS and the Kangal. I have seen an Anatolian type dog (BOZ Kangal I think) that was over 200lbs and taller than 6 feet standing, I would love something like that. I want to walk down our local town sidewalk with 300 to 400 lbs of dog at my side just to see the eyes bug out. Not my only reason for wanting a guardian breed but it would be fun.

Lol thats funny. Are Saints really hard to train? Not smart or just hard headed?

Saints are hard to cement the training in, if there are no distractions then fine, 100% obedience through half a dozen different commands, but bring in any distractions and your'e screwed. Ronnie, at 10 months, is already twice as good as my Saints who are 15 months and 19 months respectively. They don't begin training Saints for rescue work until they are 2.5 to 3.5 years( and less than 1 in 10 Saints are considered suitable for the training to start with). The problem with Saints is that they're too smart and too easily distracted.

Back to German Shepherds Dogs for us, while we love Barkley to bits he is very hard work, by his age (21 weeks) all my shepherds were fully 100% house trained and very reliable with their obedience training. Even our puppy trainer who is used to working with all breeds isn’t sure if he’s just that dense or really stubborn.

Chihuahua?!? Wait, I see what's up, you plan on giving the chihuahua to the mastiffs as a chew toy. I was worried for a second that you wanted one as a pet! ;)
Ahahahaha! Busted! I have always loved/owned big dogs and not cared for small breeds much. Since working at the shelter I have developed a love for chihuahuas. Not all for sure but there have been a few that I would have taken home...if I didn't have Parker...he likes to pounce the little ones. My husband took Parker outside one day and he took off and pounced an old chihuahua that had gotten into our yard. He said the poor dog rolled a few times, stood up and ran off. I have no idea where it came from or where it went! I have enough vet visits without adding that to the list, so it will definitely be awhile before anything fragile enters my house! And I have to add...it will NOT be carried in a purse! lol

My roommate has decided that if I move out that her next dog is going to be a wolfhound and plans to tell the breeder that she is looking for something a little smaller than her last dog.
