When should I stop posting my CC's ears?

I got Stella's ears cropped when she was about 10 weeks old. Her left ear has been standing on its own for about a month now. Her right ear, however, doesn't stand all of the time. If it has been posted for a few days (3) it will stand for 24-48 hours. Then it falls right back on top of her head. It also is softer than her left ear. She is currently 6.5 months old.

I really want her right ear to stand and I am willing to do whatever it takes. But, is there a point at which there is nothing else I can do?? when do I stop posting?

Fortunately posting has gotten easier for both of us. She used to rip out her posts and shake as hard as she could as to get them out. I used to have to give her a sedative the day she was posted. Not to mention the weekly vet trips. Now, I have all the posting materials at home and I just do it myself. Stella also doesnt even care about the post now. I swear the poor dog just thinks its normal to have a post in her ear.

Has anybody had to post their dogs ears for a long time? how long? how do you know if the ear will never stand? Could this be an issue of genetics or maybe a improper crop?

her is a picture of her most recent photo with the posts out (2 days ago). I think her crop looks good, so I dont think the ear isnt stand due to improper crop.

Her crop looks good in the pictures and I must say you are crazy to still be lifting that girl at that age :) So her ears look like this when her posting comes off but it doesn't stay?

ha, I know. as you can see, my legs almost gave out after 2 seconds ha. And yes, that is exactly is what happens. The other day we took it off in the am, and the next morning it was up (it didnt fall overnight) but then by the afternoon it had fell, so I posted it again right away. i used to let it stay on her head for a few days before I reposted, but I am starting to get more serious now that she doesnt hate it like she used to. So as soon as it falls, I am reposting.

I would leave it for a little while, see what happens if you don't post it, but keep massaging it.
The crop looks good and it should stand on it's own.

Ivans ear was flopped over the day i got him. Laying in bed or on the couch i would massage it. His ear ended up flopping back onto his head for about three days then stood right up
I was concerned as well because it felt alot softer than the one that was standing.

good news- I took the posts the day after I posted this thread and since then her ears have not fallen even once! I am super confident that our posting days are over!! :)

and Bren, that is a hilarious picture of those two dogs. That Great Dane (im assuming thats what that dog is) makes the CC look so tiny! lol
