Would you rather prefer owning a bullmastiff or english mastiff (mastiff)?!

I have put in a fair bit of research and time into researching these two breeds I am almost obssessed with haha. Just looking for some frank opinions,

Also, I am not even planning on owning one most likely for around 5 years. Just really interested.

I have looked at a lot of large working breeds which I like, but since i have narrowed it down to these two, I cannot make my mind on which one I prefer. They both suit my lifestyle very well and I have always loved the mastiff breed since I was young, espescially the English!

What are the differences between the two in character and other stuff like that?

Thanks

Aside from the physical differences, the English Mastiff is supposedly more laid back.

My Bullmastiff is only a puppy so I can't say much to the differences yet other than the BM is MUCH more independent, even at 10 weeks than my EM was. The EM was a velcro dog in every sense of the word.

Love my BM and her independent nature which is why she can serve me well as a service dog. Remi can manage (haha) the intentional disobedience required to prevent falls and alert to medical issues.

I'm a sucker for the English mastiffs faces but the Bulls size would be a better fit for me.

There both great breeds.

EM's are quite a bit larger generally, both are "I love my family" and reguard the rest of the world with different degrees of aloofness.

BM's from my experience do a bit better with heat, and are more of exploring there environment. EM's are more "your sitting here, ok works for me, I'll hold down this part of the floor."

There both pups you need to start training and building structure with as soon as you bring them home. EM's generally live by there daily routine and don't like changes to it.

I have a BM... and I want an EM, too! So I vote for both, too :D

My advice would be: it comes down to what would suit you better, and also your experience. If you've not had big dogs before, maybe don't go all the way up to an EM. The independent/velcro thing is also an important factor, so decide which you prefer an

Having grown up with BMs and GSDs, I will always choose the BM over the EM, as owning the latter is an absolutely foreign concept to me. I have met one EM though and she was delightful. I will most likely own another BM or two when I can and probably a female DDB, definitely a female GSD as well.
