Zive saved our lives!

That may be a slight exaggeration but if nothing else she saved us a lot of money. We had a small fire in our bathroom this morning. Debra was getting dressed for work and had come into the bedroom to put her clothes on. She sprayed her perfume and about that time Ziva started pointing her noise up in the air and sniffing in a strange way. I asked Debra if she had left something burning on the stove. She said no but was headed to the kitchen to get the rest of her stuff and then head out the door. We all usually follow her and I walk her out the door. Well, Ziva was still acting a little weird and then I caught a whiff of something .....

Because of Ziva I decided to check the adjoining bathroom and bedroom before going to the kitchen. I opened the bathroom door and there were flames shooting up the back wall. We have a fire extinguisher and Debra brought it to me and once I got all the safety devices unhooked it was easily put out. Another minute or two and the fire would have gotten into the walls.

So in short, if I had followed Debra into the kitchen as our routine. We would have had a major fire. It wasn't quite a Lassie moment but because she wouldn't leave to go to the kitchen I decided to check. Good thing I did.

Funny thing I got a Fila to protect us from evil people. Cane fills that role well. When Ziva failed her temperament test, I didn't care. I told her that wasn't why we got her. We were here to take care of her. Well, Ziva girl, you are a Fila through and through. Mom's proud of you!

Good girl Ziva!! What the hell started the fire? You've not been trying to make toast with the hair straighteners again have you? :lolbangtable: Seriously though, glad everyone is ok.

You know she does look more CAFIBBY, so it definitely a possibility she has some damnation in her. LOL

A damn cigarette. Apparently, Debra had not put it out totally when she dumped the ashtray into the trash.

We have not had a good run the last couple of weeks. LOL

A temperament test sees how your dog will react to a threat. Usually a decoy is used to see if your dog will stand it's ground against a possible threat or turn and run.

ahhhh! my hubby is good at that same trick. I am paranoid about it and he is exactly the opposite. Now I wont let him empty the ashtrays, I do it because we had a nice little bin fire in the kitchen one day. IDIOT! LOL.

Thank you everyone! The diva is resting peacefully, stretched out across the bed.

I knew to trust her. A few months back, Debra had left eggs boiling and had come back to the bedroom. Well, she forgot all about them. Ziva did the same thing with her nose pointed up in the air, just a twitching. Then looking at us, "I don't have thumbs, go do something about it, dumbasses!" LOL

Yes, we do have smoke detectors but she seems to be a few seconds quicker.
