not sure why exactly but our female BM is scared of people men little kids not sure why she has been exposed to various people since a puppy. we have had her since 8 weeks. when we are at the dog park she loves playing with other dogs someone tries to pet her she usually doesn't let them. she will randomly walk up to strangers at dog park and start barking at them. some friends that come to the house especially men she barks and wont stop. any experiences with this behavior in this breed.

she is 13 months and she has always been like this mostly men and children which she has been exposed to. at our local dog park tons of people try and pet her and she scurries away. women she is better with but not dying for them to pet her. i was reading in a dog breed book in Barnes and Noble on 1 to 5 on people friendly the bm scores a 1. Super friendly with other dogs but not so much people either strangers or friends that come to house.

I wish I could offer some advice but I thought it sounded like a fear stage until you said she has always been like that. I hope you figure things out.:)

Keep exposing her to men and little kids and reward her when she accepts them. You will know what distance to keep them from her until she becomes uncomfortable. Once she become uncomfortable, take her away from them. Keep moving her closer to them to let her know that they are ok because you have given her, "it's ok."

This will require a lot of patience and consistency. I have to do this with Titan who doesn't like men. He likes women and kids. I have to watch him around kids because he gets excited and jumps. Another think we're working on.

So much training...so little time...JK
