10 week old neo eating poop

My 10 week old neo is eating his own poop from the backyard. What gives? I have never experienced that before. I know its normal for nursing females dogs, but a male puppy? Should i be concened? I usually rub my sprinklers in the dogs poop so he wont bite them. Dont think this dog will care about that.

If your pup is eating poop and it is not medical or deficiency related. It will be nearly impossible to correct this behavior. At best your dog will not eat it when your there but as soon as your attention diverts he will eat it.

Sorry you're dealing with this, I have to say the sprinkler part really made me giggle! I had a pup who used to eat his own poop and I think we linked that back to his ability to digest his food! Hope it's a simple solution

Our first dog did that and it really disgusted me.
But after a few months he stopped.
I know of a few dogs that do it into there adult years, lets hope thats not the case here lol

If nothing else ill have to be quick on picking up his poop.

I'd be concerned about interest in poop generated by other dogs, until he's fully vaccinated for Parvo...

I also recommend having a teenaged child around for poop duty.

If you don't already have one- you should consider adopting.

I had archies stool tested and he has no worms or parasites. I had him wormed again just in case, i put really intense hot sauce on his stool and he still ate it. I dont know what else to do. I just hope he grows out of it.

My uncle's Golden Retriever is 9 and still eats his own poop. He's a healthy dog and has been all his life.
