Hey Guys,
A little about my current situation, I have 2 miniature Schnauzers aswell as Floyd my 11mo old dogue de bordeux, he is a lovely dog and isnt a burden in anyway, walks perfect on a lead and listens to commands when off the lead very well. The other two dogs are fine with him and they all get along just great.
Then it comes to the time I go to work. He barks, he cries, he howls, he urinates and poo's all over the kitchen where he is locked with my other 2 dogs. I recorded them for a 4hr period they were alone and he was quiet for one 30minute stint in this time. (really heartbreaking to listen to).
I've started him on NILIF training, and ive tried gradually by locking him in the room (baby gate) for time periods from 1minute to 5mins so far with him not crying. I tried him with a kong and he has no interest in it even if its filled with his favourite treat. I've also tried burning his energy off by taking him for a decent walk with some off the lead time on the local park.
Have any of you guys got any tips/tricks for me to use that will improve his alone time periods? They would be greatly appreciaed.
Thanks for reading,
Rob
