Ok I not really selling them but I hate days where they regress on their training. I haven't had a single problem walking them together in a couple of weeks and I think they decided to make up for it. A 45 minute walk took 1.5 hours. The first 20 minutes were great then Kryten decided that the rules no longer applied and he could try to pull me wherever he wanted to go. After about 10 minutes where we had moved about 1 yard Jiggers decided that if we weren't going to move he was going to do what he wanted which of course wasn't what Kryten was trying to do. Thankfully the one time they decided to cooperate and pull across the street, thru traffic to get to the dog that was trying to get to them, they went on the opposite side of a light post from me. I don't know how bad the bruise on my forearm will be but I was able to stop their momentum. Ok rant over.

Jiggers knows something's wrong, he just gave me his favorite toys.

LOL. Going cheap, huh? I can picture the whole thing. Since I only have one, the regression isn't as bad for me but a couple months ago, Ruger (Who is an absolute joy on a leash as a rule) decided that it was time to be large and in charge during a walk and that was the most miserable hour of my life and I was so damn frustrated. Ruger knew it without a doubt and tried for some time to win me back over after we got home. I made a strong drink and told him the story of how I could have gotten a goldfish instead of him and it would just swim in its little bowl and be GOOD! LOL

I was so mad when I finally got home and the fact that arm was sore just made it worse. I've never threatened Kryten with being replaced by a fish but I have told him I should have gone with the Pomeranian.

lol!!! I have on occasion been glad that Arty's not bigger, he's got plenty of "pull" as it is, if he was 60+lbs instead of 30+? I can't imagine....

Jiggers is normally good on the leash and even yesterday a check on his leash would make him stop pulling, there were a LOT of long walks that went nowhere to get him there however. I truly believe that he got bored waiting around for Kryten to smarten up and decided to find something to do. That dog is way to smart for his own good. He's excellent at getting into trouble.

yah, thats Arty's problem too really, he's got pretty decent leash manners now, but the work to get there....he used to bounce on his hind legs at the end of the leash, leaning on the leash (around his neck!!!) to balance himself *sigh*

This must be brat dog week! My adorable BM girl who,if she lives that long!, will be 1 on 5th of next month has gotten a bad dose of amnesia. At home angel, in public demon, to look at her you'd think she didn't know a single command. Walks have gone from a pleasure to a total chore,it consists of pull, jump, spin, anything but behave:(

Smokey, Cruiser has lost his mind recently and we can't seem to find it. If you lived closer I would suggest we trade for a few weeks! Sunday he opened the pantry and had a trash party. Yesterday the dork stole things off of our kitchen table, computer desk and office trash can and had a party. Up until Sunday he was behaving perfectly. He may not live through this "wild" phase.

They are back on the auction block! I don't know what has gotten into Kryten lately. He has started waiting until after Jiggers has eaten to pay any attention to his food and his first response is to growl at Jiggers if he is anywhere in sight, even if he is lying down on the other side of the room, facing away from him. Both have decided that they alone have the 'right' to be near me and actually got into a spat tonight when Kryten tried to force Jiggers away. Kryten really didn't like the 5 minute down-stay on the fat side of the room while I checked out Jiggers, who was limping afterwards. Hopefully this is a short-lived phase or cabin fever since it's been too cold for any outside playtime.

This sounds similar. Hector developed this selective "dislike" for Buddy at ~15months. It just kind of mellowed out on its own. During this period, Hector guarded doorspace, beds, me from Bud. We crated and rotated about twice a day for 1-2hrs each. We did this for about 4 days and the tension lessened. We watched their interactions and did not allow them to get in each other's face or space or let Hector "bark" his way into getting things from the other dog. If anyone did not back off from verbal correction, then they would be crated.

After reading all of these rotten kids escapades, I vote cabin faver. You all live in northern climates, right?

I'm in southern Alberta. Sunday night and all day Monday it was a blizzard. Tuesday and Wednesday the daytime high was -17C (~1F). I just checked currently it is -28C and not expected to get over -21C (-16F & -6F) so I don't think today is going to be any better.
