5 toes on back feet...........

Does anyone elses pup have 5 toes on their back paws? Our pup does and I was curious if there was anyone else who has a mastiff with the same amount of toes. This is not dew claws either, the extra toe is actually right next to the other toes and is webbed as well. My vet says he is polydactal. Just curious.

Nope Tess has 4. I looked up polydactyl...it only refers to cats. wonder why.

We had a polydactyl cat for almost 15 yrs, his name was Dygit Miss him so much!!!


If you google 'polydactyl dog(s)' lots of links come up, had no idea dogs could have extra toes - thought it was just cats. Read some of the articles, very interesting.

I've seen back dew claws, even double back dew claws, but I'd never heard of a polydactyl dog before!
