6 month old puppy limping

Hey everyone. Since Saturday my CC Malachai is limping on his right forepaw. Today he jumped in excitement when I came home from work, and now it's a lot more noticeable. It isn't swollen, and there are no cuts or abrasions. If he were human, I'd say it's his wrist joint, but as a dog, it's his lowest joint to the paw that is hurting. He's comfortable on a giant pillow in his kennel, with a hot compress on it for now, and I read that it's more than likely growing pain since there is no swelling, but I was wondering how long do i wait before a vet visit is warranted?

I'd do a vet check anyway, mastiffs are known for how much pain they can take and not show it.
So if your pups showing it to you, I would do a vet visit.
Read of several like this that where tear and pulls.

I might give it overnight... but if it's been an issue since Saturday, yeah... a vet visit's probably not a bad idea.

I second TWW. My CCx is almost impervious to pain. A neighbor stabbed him in the chest (we live in a neighborhood so safe I don't lock my door. She was pissed that he naked at her). It was a 4 inch cut about 3 inches deep. When he came in, he acted playful and fine. No evidence of pain and not much blood, but it took 2 hours of surgery to patch him up. The lesson is, they don't complain, even when they NEED the vet. Don't wait. Some of these things start to heal wrong, and make a permanent problem.

Thanks guys. Took him to the vet this morning. Very checked him and thought, possibly a sprain, but nothing worse. No swelling, xrays showed no breaks, He thinks it's either "growing pain" or a minute sprain. Glad I took him though, because I worry myself into a tizzy over him. Thanks for the recommendations
