7 month old EM suddenly sick

I get home from work today and Maggie has diareah and is spitting up. It didn't take long for the diareah to turn completely liquid and the throw up to all liquid as well. no changes to her diet which has been Natures Domain (Costco brand) since we brought her home at 2 months of age. Up til now she hasn't had any digestive issues and been a good eater (7 cups per day)

Worried that she could have ingested something obviously, and not expecting any treatment revaluations from you good folks on this forum, but other than get her to the Vet, are there any suggestions.

You can give her Immodium to help her out until she can get into the vet. I also would recommend putting her on rice and beef or chicken for a few days and see if that helps.

Is she drinking water? Need to keep her hydrated. Is the vomit clear? I would not force her to eat at this time for at least 24 hours.

Keep us posted.

At the Vet now. Good news is she stopped vomiting and squirting once we left the house. Been close to 2 hours now. Even though she's been vaccinated they ran a Parvovirus test because of her age and it came back negative. X-rays now to make sure there's no obstruction.

Oh boy, Vet just came to tell us that the X-rays show gas build up in the intestines but she's not confident that it is an obstruction. So now we do a barium series to confirm if the intestine is clear and perhaps just inflamed for some other reason. Geeze this is gonna be an expensive evening.

Have they done a anal swab and analyzed that? My Girl had the squirts and throwing up a few weeks ago and it turned out be Colitis. Good luck!!!

Again same thing Dozer had a few years ago. Turned out to be the pancreas. The gas in the intestines is the scary part. Processed (cooked) fat like food grease (bacon) can send a dogs pancreas into an inflammatory state pretty fast.

She spent the night at the Vet because it took the better part of 5 hours for the barium to make it to her Colon. But it did make it so it would seem no foreign body causing blockage. Vet says gastroenteritis but no certainty as to what caused the inflammation at the intestine/colon junction. Sent her home with an antibiotic (Metronidazole), something for nausea (Metoclopramide) and something for stomach gas (Famotidine).

Got her on a bland diet right now, some cans of EN Gastroenteric from the Vet for a few days then rice and chicken for a few more. She seems fine, bugging the cat to play with her, if not quite back to her super energetic self just yet. Drinking plenty of water and has a good appetite though I am hesitant to feed her too much until we see that 1st BM. May take bit to fill the old system back up after the purge but I would anticipate at least seeing that barium in the yard before long.

3 days post trauma and she's feeling fine and acting fine, back to her usual puppy self. Pooping has resumed though her stools are still soft and runny which i assume could be due to the meds. Keeping her on the rice and chicken and will begin to combine with her regular food in a few days.
