A 185 lb wuss!

Oscar and I pass a yard belonging to a Pomeranian on our walks. The Pom always goes nuts when we pass and Oscar always whelps. What a joke, the Pom is probably one tenth his size!

More wuss behavior:

Someone left our side gate open one day, and Oscar got out, he got as far two houses down where a small mix breed lives, the family were about to get in their car to go out, not sure what happened but the other dog must have scared Oscar and he jumped in the front passenger seat of their car and wouldn't get out until I came and got him, he wouldn't even get out for my 14 year old son.

Anyone else got a big old wussy dog?

No Mouse when we are walking stands his ground If we pass a DA dog, but show no aggression. Past that he looks at all people and dogs as a new friend to play with.

But I would take 185lbs of wuss over 185lbs of ate the neighbors dog that is a 10th his size.

He is three, four in July, so no, not in the fear stage. He just isn't a dominant dog. He is a typical mastiff, does his job very well and is super friendly guy and plays nicely with other dogs, but he is no alpha dog. I rarely take him to the dog park as an intact male he is a hump magnet, and he lets dogs jump all over him.

Potentially bad situation...(all that other stuff I'm supposed to say)...but visualizing this made me laugh. :) Big ol' galoot sitting in someone else's car...

I guess you're right, he's a wuss. hehehehehehe That's ok, the world needs wusses. :)

I love his wussiness ;), he is such a character, he really is Mr Personality Plus. He is a big old love bug, not that I need to tell fellow EM parents about that! :hearts:

I though our boy was a serious wuss. he has been chased off by small dogs on a pretty regular basis. Until the day on a walk, my son was charged by a aggressive barking medium sized dog. Lets just say the other dog was corrected and quickly had to retreat. It has been my experience that the breed avoids confrontation but will react if the situation is right.....Ive only had a mastiff as part of our family for little over a year though so my experience is limited.

He isn't a frickin' wuss, he is a mastiff. The true English mastiff personality is one that is soft in nature, loving and gentle. If you were expecting something different, you did not research the personality traits of your dog/breed. When really tested they will stand their ground, but must be pushed really hard to do so. Their breaking point and tolerance level is pretty high.

Too young to tell here what Linc will be, but as it stands with him being 8 mos old.........wuss!
He hears a small dog and yup he is suddenly trying to get to my right side. I bet he would jump into my arms if he could lol
It seems to only be the small high pitched barking dogs that scare him.
And OMG thats gotta be the first I have ever heard someone having to get their dog out of someone elses car.....hilarious!
