Antler Chews

I'm thinking about buying Moose, my EM, some antler chews. I've read up on them, and the durability of antlers is appealing. Does anyone give their dogs antlers? Any pros or cons I should know about? Thanks everyone!

Hm ... I've never given antlers, my impression was that they were more breakable than raw bones and therefore posed a sharp-point hazard. I'll be interested to read what everyone else has to say.

they seem indestructible, so my TMs have started ignoring them in favor of catalogs, foam, newspapers, garden hoses...you know, things that can spread around and make a mess!

They are great - Watson (10 mnth Neo) loves them and they last a ton longer than say, a bully stick. We can't give him bones at the moment due to a minor guarding issue that we are working on, but he has no problems with his antler. They seem to wear down rather than break off, and he has a habit of breaking things off so I'd say they are pretty safe

I gave my moose an antler he loved it, Bo loved it too, moose chewed on it for hours and just wore down a little like madammariposa said.
