Lol sounds like you got a bullmastiff for sure I can relate all your story's on that 1 . When my pup was 10 weeks old it seen me have push neighbours dog away from stealing it's food when I was feeding it ( it snuck up behind me not realize was there initially . And when I pushed it away off the food my 10 week old pup already protective went to town on ot I had pull it off so yes it's something to think about there no poodle lol

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I did ask if she wanted money but because it had been a gift her parents were like errr can you just replace it haha! Haha definitely no poodle, as long as she loves me and everyone that comes into the house I'm happy, she doesn't really like being touched outside by strangers though because they just come straight up and touch her they don't even ask so it makes it difficult to reassure her first! I know I'm the same I hate when dogs fight I'm just so protective over mine, definitely are family!!

I she will love you all bm will die for there pack . Great with kids n even cats etc as long as raised with them. Our dogs sleep with our cat n our cat has no manners and sometimes attacks them lol but they never get aggressive just become super playfull with it but it usually retreats when they get over playfull lol as they have stepped on poor car couple time accidently

One of the things I love about this breed are they are not over needy for attention as they are very confident and self assured tho they love attention as I love giving them attention but they won't be hanging around your feet all day following you for constant pats but more to b around you protect and . Mine do seem to love end there back where tail starts bn patted lol makes there leg shake is funny. Does your do the cute head tilt yet?

Hahahha that's hilarious about the cats! Our has seen one cat so far and she ran away from it! Hilarious! Yeah she doesn't want much attention...she gets it but doesn't always want it but she's too cute not to kiss! Ahhh the famous head tilt she's forever doing it with her ears all rigid she looks even cuter then!!!

Wow, whoever that woman was she is way out of line for talking to you like that, how incredibly rude, and I'm sorry you had to be subjected to her idiotic comments. She should be glad she didn't run into me, because I would have given her a piece of my mind, as I've done a couple of weeks ago when I took my CC for a walk, and ended up with a broken finger rant. I got soo mad, with the people who (in my case) had their dogs off leash that I went all psycho on them… Looking back I could have handled it better, yes I totally lost my cool, but it is what it is. Things like that infuriate me, and I have a very short temper when it comes to stupidity.

The park I go to says ALL dogs MUST be on leash. But I guess that's just a suggestion, since everyday I see off leash dogs. Nevertheless, I also let Luther run off leash BUT it's in a designated area, I live by an off leash dog run also, (hardly anyone ever goes there, which is perfect) or when I go up to my friend's 10 acre farm, otherwise I keep him on a leash whenever we are out on our walks (even though he is off leash trained). I simply do not trust the idiot people, nor their unstable and/or out of control dogs. Most people are clueless about dogs, dog temperaments, dog behavior and dog signals. And in spite of all the local leash laws, I am encountered by dog owners who believe that just because their dog is "friendly" it is okay for him to be running up to us. I've come to HATE hearing "oh don't worry, he's friendly". Now I say "great, awesome, mine is NOT, now call back your dog!". And if they refuse to, I am prepared to take it to the next level.

So, it appears my problem is the opposite of yours, I guess you can't win either way. LOL. I command you for keeping your cool, and being a good owner who cares about keeping your pups safe. I guess all you can do is ignore all the idiots, and stay far away from them - which is exactly what I do now. Cheers!

Honestly I would have done the COMPLETE same in your situation! When you've had to deal with those types of people enough there comes a breaking point!!!! Especially when you play by the rules and others don't! I'm the same when people go oh my dogs are friendly...2minutes later they're snapping at our dogs heels and growling and barking at them!!!!!!!! It makes me so mad, because this particular woman's dog was so unfriendly I was like do you even think id want number one my puppy playing with it and number 2 my staffie who's bigger than her staffie, if they got into a fight it would be the end of it! The thing is she has no experience with any other dogs apart from her 6 year old staffie, and people have no experience with dogs (well the ones who talk to us) so we get so much criticism for the way we are with our dogs but I RESPECT coco even though she's 12 weeks, I know full well what she'll be capable of when she's older! Thank you haha on reflection I have no idea how I was so calm!

Yes I also hear that mag pie it's ok my dogs friendly but try telling that yo your mastiff when it's by your side and has a there dog running at you grr than it's always the mastiff fault cause there dogs friendly etc but they just don't seem to realize the mastiff was friendly also untill there stranger dog ran up on u . It's the breed of the dogs to protect and some dog owners need to be more educated on other dog breeds if there going to be going to dog parks of Leeds letting there dogs run up to strangers with there dogs . Should be a law for Leeds in uk I'm surprised there isn't .

Yesss I can see them they're Gorgeous!!!!!! I know we have this problem with coco she's very dominant towards our staff even her playing she's always standing over him and biting him when he gets up like this
9uqebyja.jpg
so it's something that we always try and maintain because I couldn't bare them getting into it with each other later on, thankfully our staff is a very placid, submissive dog but I wish sometimes he'd put her in her place! I also wish we had dog lead laws in the uk people have no common sense with their dogs!!

Wow is that bm 12 weeks old ? It's huge lol. That's great if your staffy is going to submit so once the bm let's your staff know it's the boss them to will b best friends ever and your bm will protect your staff with its life . It's just the bm won't let up till it's boss and once it knows the staffy knows it than you will be good . My problem is neither of my dogs are submissive which can potentially b a big n expensive problem even fatal I've been told by breeders of bm . Well I'm learning this one still plenty of googling lol . They look like there having fun . So you mind me asking what a purebred bm cost in uk ? Cheers

She is really big, she's the same height as our staff now haha! She's already so protective over him, when any dog comes up to him in the park she goes a bit crazy trying to get to him haha! Ah ok I see your problem! Bet it's a full time job making sure they're both on their best behaviour! They have an amazing time! Haha it all depends to be honest our coco is like 1/12th staffie or something stupid so she was slightly cheaper at around £600ish but after all her injections she's cost us about £750 however a pure bred start from anywhere from £1,000 and up! We didn't want a completely pure bred mastiff as we're well aware of the hip problems and everything else that comes along so we though maybe it would reduce the risk

Yes they do tend have hip problems so far so good mine are young still so hope no probs down the track . Chilli the red 1 mum is an australian champion n she looks so much like her mum it's crazy .

I think she's had all of her staffie bred out of her to be honest as she's got absolute no resemblance to a staff and looks very bullmastiff! But they do cost a hell of a lot! Ahh they're worth it though aren't they! And at least you know exactly what you're getting!!

Sure are they do loyal and reliable and self assured and protective a dog that likes to give more than it takes a great breed I'm always bullmastiff now I'm sold lol . I've had cattle dogs n labs etc and yeah I loved them of course but I'll never get them again over the bullmastiff . You see it may sound bit hard lol but I decided as my mate did also if your going to have a dog and feed it and love it and train it etc than you may as well have a dog that protect you and your family and detour . And will be on gaurd duty around your home and mostly bark only when there's a reason unlike many other breeds that yap all day because they over needy for a pat and attention .point is the bm is an unselfish dog that works around your home always on duty even if it's asleep they wake up fast when there is a good reason. Mine are great with people but they can sense things well when necessary etc. Just love them lol . So if I'm going spend good money on a dog it has to serve a purpose lol my point. But some ppl love the needy dogs etc that bark all day for there reasons I'm not knocking them but just saying another reason of why I love this breed .

I completely agree, a lot of my friends have small happy dogs and they just really baby them, I can't I need dogs that are independent and that love me and are loyal! So far she is all of those things and she's only 12 weeks haha! Will definitely always have BMs now! I'm hooked! I'm pretty sure that the small bit of staff in her has been bred out as she doesn't have a single bit of staff like characteristics in her and she's the same size as our 1.5 year old staff so she's a big girl already! Her dad's side is stupidly big never actually seen dogs that big haha! It's her mums side that has staff in it!
