Bedding

So my two knuckle heads always tear apart everything that I place in their crates to sleep on (blankets, rugs, etc.). Does anyone know of anything that I could use in their crates that is soft enough to keep them from developing elbow calluses but they won't want to rip to shreds?

I had a similar problem with my DDB and her bedding so I bought a crate pad that has not been ruined yet (2monthish going strong). Its a kong crate pad and overall it doesn't seem like she tried to mess with it as much as her previous bedding. I am not sure if you dog actively tried to ruin it, if it would hold up though?
It is a bit costly (in my opinion) esp if your dog ends of tearing it apart. Here is a link in case you want to give it a shot:

We have one of these also & it's really nice, (we've also 2 other beds for him). Also before we got him I went to a local thrift shop & bought him some cheap blankets too - he's never chewed them but for $2 each it wouldn't have mattered much besides the mess. ;)

We opted to just take out everything but one fuzzy (and cheap) blanket. That blanket survived where anything with stuffing was toasted.

One thing we didn't try - but now Denna has run of the house, so we don't need to - was some of those gel/foam mats that they sell as rugs for the kitchen... they don't seem "chew worthy" to me (but, I'm not a mastiff, so what do I know?).

thanx everyone, def some good input. I think I may try the kong bedding, after all those are the only toys that stand up to my pups so maybe the bedding will be the same lol

I just got a Carhartt dog bed the other day and it looks like the toughest dog bed I have seen yet. Duck canvas with a real brass zipper. It is barely big enough for a mastiff though.

I didn't even know that they made a dog bed.

Oh trust me they are chew worthy.
I dont believe anything is Mastiff proof unless it is made of Stainless Steel!!

I discovered my dogs will behave totally differently toward textures, as opposed to objects.
So fake fur blankets (not fleece type), are loved, not torn.

I brought home from a charity shop yesterday, a fake fur, pale blue blanket. The GSD nearly wet himself with excitement when he saw it in my arms. He so wanted to lay on it. Seriously sensual creatures dogs.
I dropped it and all 3, rolling on it, smothering their muzzles in the fur.
My dogs are perhaps just perverts?

But id so love a great big mastiff bed each, fluffy, and THICK, and warm and cozy.
But i know that's a fantasy. As reality is rather different. and im over it, with cleaning up, disemboweled beds these days.
