Before I get my first Neo...?

I have done serious homework on the breed, but I would love to hear from all you Neapolitan Parents out there, from your own perspectives, on a day to day basis what is it like having one in your life? Not just the breed-standard information, but your own story and your own dog, and what he brings to your family? How affectionate, pros & cons, does he follow at your heels or is he more independent, does he cuddle, how much exercise and what kind? any issues? etc.

Also, what is your average monthly fee for caring for one? I have found this information on non-mastiff dogs and English Mastiffs, but none of the other mastiff breeds.

Thanks

1st let me start by saying , i have owned several bullmastiffs. Chloe is our 1st half bull half neo. She shows very little of the bullmastiff temperment. She is much more protective of the car house and our son. She must be made of velcro, cause she will not go more than ten feet from me, momma , or her baby boy(my son). She also has probably the most hard headed attitude i have ever seen in a dog. It has taken some creativity to work out some of her issues. It has also taken some serious determination to out last her in some of the situations she has presented. She runs us in any given month, roughly $150.00 she goes threw a 30lbs bag of food every week and half. This does not include vet visits and comfortis, or heart wormer. As for what she gives to the family. let me put it like this, She aint forsale. No i wont let you sit for me, Dont pet my dog, If you dont like my dog don't come over, No i wont go out of town , my dog has a set schedule that i keep to religiously. I LOVE HER THAT MUCH AND MORE!!!!

I have a Neo boy, he just turned a year old in November. I wouldn't trade him for the world!! Get ready for slobber/drool, having your toes stepped on, large food bills, gas, being leaned on, stubborness, gas, drool, big wet kisses, snoring, did I mention the gas? But they'll give you their heart, protect you, drive you crazy, and love you forever.

Thanks everyone..... Where did you guys get your pups from, if you don't mind me asking? And how long did you have to wait once you decided for sure that you were going to get one?

Friends of mine gave Camo to me once they realized that they had no clue what they were getting into.

I got my wonderful Neo from Natalia at Wild Child Kennels. She is in Tennessee. I'm in PA. I did a lot of research before selecting Wild Child, and had to wait a bit to get the right puppy for me. I got my girl in December 2011. Natalia has always been there to mentor and answer any questions.
