behavior after spaying...

Sadie is turning 2 soon, and we're planning to spay her. She can behave like a lunatic (too excited) with other dogs when she's on leash. We are working on that behavior, but I'm wondering if spaying her will temper her enthusiasm for other dogs... What's been your experience?

It hasn't made a change with mine...hopefully the prong will help me communicate that this is not appropriate behavior with them.

There are a WHOLE bunch of threads on this subject already. A quick search should pull them all up. IMO as far as behaviors are concerned. It will stop your female from menstruating. That's about it.

If your bitch is very dominate and pushy she could become worse, since she no longer has a predominance of estrogen in her system. All mammals have both estrogen and testosterone. When you remove one they are left with the other. With a well bred, well trained, level headed animal the only behavior that will change is sexual. This applies to male and female.
