We lost our Blue Doggy last month after 12 wonderful years. She was our catahoula mix, and the best dog I've ever owned. I'm just now able to talk about it. She had hemangiosarcoma, and we didn't realize anything was wrong until it was too late. Blood tests every six months always came back healthy, and she would always run around with Topaz and chase squirrels. Right up until a Friday afternoon when she started acting almost drunk like. Then she stopped eating. So I took her in and she was internally bleeding due to the mass rupturing in her abddomen. Nothing we could do. Three days before that, she was chasing Topaz around the house to get her to play. So being so sudden like that, it hit us hard. RIP baby.
Topaz (our mastiff mix) has been doing OK. She kept looking for Blue for the first few weeks, but now has moved on. Plus she gets her antler and treats back because there isn't another dog to fight over goodies with.
