What is your dog experience I'm sure you've read through the fila threads we have here there not a breed for first time owners of "rough" dogs

Depends what are you looking for in a dog breed? What's your lifestyle like? Social butterfly? Home body? Are you looking for a guardian or a watch dog? Do you have kids plan on having kids?

With no background informaiton on you other than the rotts and pits you really haven't given us much to go with.

I dont recommend either of the two stated above and in order to really recommend a breeder or more importantly a litter I would have to know a lil more about exactly what you are looking for. BTW you seem to have a nice amount of land but is any of it gated?

yes 3 acres fenced and gated. i am looking for a guard dog that is gonna protect the house and family. we have some meth heads around here and i want a dog that is loyal, protective and hate strangers but is good with the family.

any other animals? what is the age of your children? how often does family come over? do people have access to your home b4 the gated area or do they have to come in through the gate to get access to your home, ie meter reading, mail box, ups, fed ex, etc.?

Come in thru gates, kids are 15 and 10. Family never comes over meter and mail out side gates? kids dont bring friends over.

Fila is not an "hard" dog to live with.

He is lovely, gentle and kind with everyone he/she lives with.

Offcourse u should consider he is a Fila :) So ojeriza,so u can't take him to dog zone etc..

But actually.. i had a Cental Asian sheppard and a rottweiler (i still have it.. it is a "she") ,, they are bot harder dogs to live with than Fila.

IF u know what a Fila is and IF u have the right place to keep him.

(Btw Fila will love ur kids.. he ll protect them.. even from u if u are too hard with them :p )

I don't know breeders in us...i'm sorry.

I can give u some names in brazil,in spain and in CZ.. if u want.

Alek is correct. Filas are very easy dogs because they have the desire to please so deeply embedded in them. They are also very predictable... you never have to guess what they will do if a stranger comes over, they will attack him/her so an accident should never happen because your dog will be locked up if a friend of yours comes over. There are a few kennels in the U.S.A. that breed to the CAFIB standard, do health checks and show their dogs in CAFIB expositions and they are: Canil Leoas de chacara in PA, Canil da Forca in NC, Carioca in NC, Alma Corajosa in IN. There are also some kennels that have CAFIB/Unifila Filas but they also have non CAFIB dogs as well like Dianna in Sacramento (I forget her kennel name right now) and Outrageous shadow filas in TN (also shows in CAFIB shows).
