Yesterday while waiting to pick my bf up from drill I decided to go to the animal shelter and play with some dogs. Me and my sisters were there and we decided to take out a bull mastiff called Molly. She had been surrendered a few hours earlier.

When we got to the outside run she proceeded to gently come greet all three of us with a lick on the hand. I thought she was small maybe the size of a large APBT or a small boxer. Either way she was gorgeous and playful but most of all stole our hearts in the 30mins we got to spend with her. Her whole demeanor was just captivating she had such a noble air about her...I can't stop thinking about her. I can't adopt her because I don't have the time nor the money or space for her. :(

So I was hoping someone with firsthand bull mastiff experience would chime in and tell me more about the breed. How they are indoors and how much exercise would be optimal. What they are like around children and how hardcore of a guardian are they? Like do they give warning barks or would they actually attack a person who was threatening the family? Prey drive? I'd like to know about the quirks that may be common throughout the breed as a whole as well.

Here is a picture of Molly.

I just wanted to say that Molly is so pretty. What a nice looking dog. I've never had a bull mastiff so maybe someone else can help you with those questions.

Dogs have their own personalities/ and are raised differently... that has a big impact on the dog’s demeanor....
